New York, NY: The BiggEye Mosaic is a rich, interactive display of the top 50 e-commerce websites, of the more than two thousand BiggEye tracks 365 days a year.

With the Holiday Season kicking-off we are making a BETA version, available to the public, of the new and improved BiggEye Mosaic 2.0. This is a sneak preview of some of the functions to be included in the next-gen BiggEye.

The green shading is an indicator of ranking within the sample. When the full set of 2000+ sites is implemented this will range from green to red depending on performance.

The Mosaic has several performance metrics that can be activated. These include Response Speed, Reach, Page Score and Availabilty. Simply click on any metric to activate each one individually or click all to compare. You can also choose None (as shown above) to see the 50 home pages with no overlay of data. Some may appear missing or dark, that is an indication of the target site not allowing access to the page.

To make full use of the Mosaic, click or tap any of the sites in the array. A pop-up window displays the sites home page ranking as well as, detailed Response Speed, Reach, Page Score and Availabilty.

Some technical details:

The Mosaic makes a call (parses) to BiggEye API top 50, creates a list of sites then records response, reach, google page load and availability and builds tile objects using the sites array.

The canvas element is part of HTML5 and allows for dynamic, scriptable rendering of 2D shapes and bitmap images.

SOURCE

The BETA makes full use of HTML5 and the CANVAS element to streamline the load. Even with this in place you may still experience load delay – once loaded a user can interact with any content freely.
